Architectural Guidelines & Façade Programs

The various land use by-laws in place before the development of this Plan included different approaches to regulating architectural design, with variation in the success of those approaches and the level of effort required for administration. A new architectural guidelines and façade program would provide a consistent approach across Cumberland, and could include incentives for improving façades in key locations, such as downtown commercial areas.
