Building

Development

Most new buildings, changes of use, signs, new businesses, campgrounds and drive-throughs require development permits to ensure the use is permitted and compatible with the community.

Land Use Planning

Cumberland’s planning documents help to ensure development occurs in a safe and responsibe way while adapting to climate change and protecting resources.

Permitted uses, setbacks and other requirements are dependant on the zoning of the particular property.

SUBDIVISION

Simply moving the boundary between properties, splitting a property, consolidating lots or creating a series of lots on a new road typically require subdivision approval.
